Australian Age Championships 2024

Cranbrook Aquatic is continuing to kick goals as we had our most successful national championships to date.

Rebecca Wheatley and Tom Sunter led the 23 CASC National Age swimmers to over 70% personal bests which resulted in 2 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 bronze, 16 top 10s and 6 B finals.

CASC finished 23rd on the point score out of more than 300 clubs, which was 31 positions better than last year. We more than doubled our team members going to Olympic Trials, with hopefully more to come after some swimmers narrowly missed QTs at nationals.

We continued to show our depth with the mens relays getting silver in the medley relay and 2 bronzes in the freestyle relays. We had 2 swimmers get selected for state relays which went on to get gold.

These results are a massive team effort with support from Cranbrook School and Director of Sport Matthew Grice.

Marcus Da Silva (Yr 12) and Head Coach Rebecca Wheatley have both been named on the Australian Junior Team for 2024. Marcus was selected after winning Gold in the 100m and 200m Freestyle events at the National Age Championships. Rebecca was selected based on Marcus’s and CASC results from the same event.

Normally this is end of season for us but we keep powering on with Olympic trials in June.
