Careers Support

We place great importance on the building of life skills and career management to ensure our students are prepared for tertiary education and a vocational life beyond the School gates.

One-on-one consultations with students, their parents, and the Director of Year 12 College are encouraged throughout the final years at Cranbrook ensuring our students develop a level of self-awareness to ensure they make the right choices for the future.

Our students are introduced to the working world through the Work Experience Programme run in Year 10, Careers Education classes in Year 11 and a series of presentations by universities and information evenings held in Year 12.

Our students are introduced to the working world through content embedded in subjects and career profiling commencing in Year 11 and a series of presentations by universities and information evenings held in Year 12.

CRANBROOK’S CAREERS PROGRAMME HELPS TO PREPARE STUDENTS TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL AND ENTER THE WORLD BEYOND, FULLY AWARE OF THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE AND THE SKILLS NEEDED FOR THEIR CAREER AHEAD.

ALASTAIR METCALF, DIRECTOR OF YEAR 12 COLLEGE

Cranbrook’s Year 12 College

The Year 12 College is an important facility which provides a bespoke working environment for our most senior students. The College has an emphasis on the centrality of intellectual exchange. Bridging the gap between Year 12 and university, the varied individual room layout effectively facilitates collegial learning by Year 12 students.

Its rooms incorporate a diversity of learning options, from individual focus study areas to small group seminar and study fellowship seminar learning given by leading educationalists and visiting fellows. Lectures, seminars and tutorials are all held in the College, mirroring the teaching and learning style of university.
