Murray Rose Aquatic & Fitness Centre

The Murray Rose Aquatic & Fitness Centre opened in 2022, and is named in tribute to the former Olympian, humanitarian, OAM and Old Cranbrookian, Murray Rose.

His many swimming successes include six Olympic medals, fifteen world records and four Commonwealth Games medals. With his significant School achievements, extensive charity work coupled with his award-winning swimming and professional career, we are delighted to be able to honour and celebrate Murray’s legacy through our new state of the art sports facility.

The Murray Rose Aquatic & Fitness Centre is open to Cranbrook School students for use and to the wider community for Learn to Swim and Squad Training.

The facilities include:

  • 8 lane 50 metre pool which can be utilised as a 2 x 25 metre pools for both Swimming and Water Polo
  • 18 x 10 metre Learn to Swim pool
  • Grandstand 
  • Full electronic timing system
  • Colour scoreboard
  • Olympic standard racing blocks
  • Multipurpose court with Basketball, Futsal and Cricket options
  • Weights Centre featuring Rogue and Technogym weights

As an Olympic Swimmer, I know how important facilities are in enabling personal best and building team morale and a competitive mindset. The Aquatic and Fitness Centre will revolutionise our Swimming Programme at Cranbrook, giving our budding swimmers and athletes the training, learning and competing spaces they deserve.
