For their unit on motion, the Year 9 iSTEM cohort participated in the Sydney Metro Minds STEAM Challenge which had them design and prototype an innovative solution to a problem they identified in the current Sydney Metro system.
One team, containing Alex, Hugo, Thomas F and Thomas H had their video pitch selected and were named finalists, a fantastic achievement! On Thursday they were invited to the International Convention Centre to present an 8 minute live pitch to a panel of experts from Sydney Metro. They were then grilled with questions about their innovative design to re-capture energy lost during train travel using a generator they designed and prototyped.
They worked hard on their pitch and presented with clarity and confidence. Congratulations boys for being finalists!
