The Cranbrook Foundation was founded in 1974 by Cranbrook School. It is a company limited by guarantee and is administered by a Board of Directors. Its day to day activities are supported by the Director of Development, a member of the Cranbrook School staff. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial and other assistance to the School to assist in attaining the vision for the School as articulated by the School Council.
The Cranbrook community is caring, involved and generous. We are deeply grateful for the many gifts provided by Old Cranbrookians, parents both current and past, grandparents, staff and friends. This support has assisted in preserving or developing the facilities of the school and helping the school to maintain excellence in education.
Like many independent schools, Cranbrook depends on the support of the entire community – school fees and government grants alone do not support new capital projects, major maintenance and restoration of existing buildings, visiting academics or the ongoing support and enhancement of the School’s scholarships and bursary programmes.
Whilst much has been achieved during the past decade, we are now looking to secure the future of our School, ensuring its relevance and optimisation into its second century. Our focus is now on the renewal of our Bellevue Hill campus, with work underway on planning and developing the transformation of our School infrastructure.
In 2017, the Foundation received funds of $5,337,623, excluding investment returns and interest. These were sourced from parents, alumni and friends of Cranbrook and come in the form of regular contributions, one off donations, School enrolment fees and voluntary building contributions. The Foundation was pleased to transfer $5,000,000 to the School in order to support Masterplan Stage 1, the Senior School Building renewal.
A highlight for the Foundation in 2017 was the Realise Gala Dinner held in December, where almost 500 of the School’s most passionate supporters attended. The evening was a significant success and the generosity of the community on that night raised $3 million towards our ambitious Capital Campaign goal of $25 million.
All gifts support Cranbrook’s future, and whether large or small, gifts are greatly appreciated and assist the School’s vision to deliver new and innovative educational and learning facilities. All gifts will be acknowledged on our Foundation website and in our Annual Report.

The AISUSA Foundation complies with US Charity law and is registered as a tax exempt 501 (c) (3) by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
