Cranbrook School is pleased to share the exceptional academic results achieved by our Class of 2025 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). We are immensely proud of each and every student in this Year 12 cohort across both the IB and HSC.
The 2025 IB Diploma students have achieved the highest ever average and median score for Cranbrook School to date.
The Median IB Score was 38, with 56% of Cranbrook students achieving this outstanding result, or above. This currently equates to a Median ATAR of at least 95.
These results are a tremendous credit to our students who have worked with diligence, resilience and grit, as well as a strong sense of collegiality and support for one another. The continued success of Cranbrook’s IB Diploma Programme is also strengthened by the calibre of our outstanding teaching and non-teaching staff who go above and beyond in their endeavours. These achievements reflect their expertise, care and commitment invested for the duration of each scholar’s academic journey, as well as the support of our engaged community here at Cranbrook.
IB – WITH DISTINCTION
We warmly congratulate the following students who achieved their Diploma ‘with Distinction’ by scoring 40 or more points:
IB – EXCEPTIONAL COURSE RESULTS
A grade of 7 is the highest possible grade in an individual IBDP subject and represents an outstanding achievement. Over a quarter of all grades achieved were a grade of 7 across a vast range of courses as follows:
IB SUBJECT SCORE HIGHLIGHTS
- 100% of all IB Diploma Theatre students achieved a grade of 7
- 70% of the Sports, Exercise and Health Science IB Diploma students emerged as a standout achieving top-band grades of 6 or 7
- 65% of the IB Diploma Psychology students achieved a top-band of 6 or 7
- 60% of the IB Diploma language students achieved grades of 6 or 7 across Chinese, Japanese, French and Spanish
The IB offers an Enquiry Upon Results (EUR) opportunity for students who wish to have their marks reassessed. For this reason, these results may be subject to adjustment over the coming weeks. The complete picture of our 2025 academic performance will not be known until the EUR process is complete and the HSC results have been published.
As one of the pioneers of the IB Continuum across Sydney’s independent school sector, we are delighted to provide a world-class academic pathway from Pre-School to Year 12 that helps equip and empower our students to achieve their potential and thrive. The IB’s focus on critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and international-mindedness helps prepare our students to flourish in their future pursuits and make meaningful contributions here and beyond our shores in their chosen fields.
