Dead White Males: a sold out success to bid farewell to our temporary theatre…
Last Wednesday – Saturday night, 15 students from Cranbrook, Ascham and Kambala entertained audiences with their sophisticated coming-of-age university drama, Dead White Males by David Williamson. This was a sold-out success and students have walked away with pride in their professionalism in the face of many Covid-obstacles. Thank you to everyone who supported this production.
It also marked the last time Drama would occupy the Multi-Purpose room, and the beginning of our march into the New Theatre!!!
Between now and the first week of Term 4, when the musical launches, your son still has the opportunity to participate in many great Cranbrook-based productions. Students from Years 7-12 are currently rehearsing for the Shakespeare Carnival, Others are training for the Theatresports Competitions. There will be a student-directed play at the beginning of Term 3, and a Year 9/10 mini play in the middle. We have our Pitt Cup Interhouse Theatresports Competition commencing early Term 2.
So on behalf of the Drama Department, I invite you to keep an eye out and come and witness some of the fabulous opportunities our Drama boys work so hard for!
