The curriculum consists of all learning experiences under the auspices of the School. The following six Key Learning Areas (KLAs) form the foundation of the primary curriculum:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) - including French and Religious Studies
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
  • Creative Arts - Drama, Music, Visual Arts
  • Science and Technology.

Class teachers are responsible for teaching English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, HSIE and aspects of Personal Development. Mathematics is taught in ability groups across each grade and is coordinated by Mathematics Coordinator. Specialist teachers take classes in Art, Music, Physical Education, French, Religious Studies and Drama in Years 5 and 6.

Some team-teaching takes place between class teachers and specialist teachers, particularly in the teaching of information skills with the Teacher Librarian, Drama with Senior School Drama staff, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) with the ICT Specialist. Learning Support staff and the Gifted and Talented Specialist team-teach with class teachers across the curriculum.

The Junior School (K - 6) implements the International Baccalaureate Organistation's Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP is an integrated, inquiry-based, international curriculum framework. The School also meets the curriculum requirements of the NSW Board of Studies.
